Quernst chapel

Where man and nature meet

The Quernst chapel is situated at the site of the former Quernst church. Here, man and nature meet. It is a place of reflection and meditation. The message reads, “We leave everyday life, pause for a moment and conceive something unusual beyond the chapel – a nascent new wilderness. Modesty, awe and respect should accompany us from here. Are we prepared for it?”

The architecture is based on the silhouette of a laying shepherd. Greywacke from Dainrode, shale from the Sauerland, spruce and larch wood from the Kellerwald, combined with flower-like coloured glass windows make it a work of art.
