Ederseeradweg ER 4

Along the rivers Eder and Wilde

The approximately 50-km long, largely asphalted ER 4 extends the loop of the ER 3 by an excursion into the traditional spa town and resort of Bad Wildungen with its charme of the 1920s. From Edertal-Hemfurth, the ER 4 joins the Eder-Radweg and the Ederauen Erlebnis-Pfad (adventure trail). The ER 4 leaves the Edertal on the level of Wellen and follows the softly ascending Wildetal.

In the Wildunger Bergland (Wildungen mountenous region)

Hilltops and valleys characterise the lovely landscape. Treasures of the fauna grow on the rocky grounds of steep valley slopes.

Carbonnated mineral springs emerge. They made the spa town of Bad Wildungen famous.

In the largest spa gardens of Europe

Built more than a hundred years ago according to English design, the park spoils the eye with a colourful wealth of flowers and indulges in medicinal springs, water displays and its shady alleys which – past a music pavilion and the spa gardens café, a popular meeting point – lead to the impressive foyers.

Note: As an alternative to the ER 4 which leads through the national park, you might as well choose the easier route through the Wesebachtal. Follow the ER 3 from Kleinern.
